BERTIL

DRUMS – KEYBOARDS – BACKING- AND HARMONYVOCALS

Bertil started playing his first instrument, the organ, at the age of 7. At the age of 8 he performed for on different occasions and knew that was what he wanted to do. At the age of 16 he picked up the guitar and started playing drums. Later on he also learned how to play bass, keyboards and started singing. In the mid nineties, while playing in the dutch tribute band Kiss This!, Bertil shared the stage with original band members of KISS during three European tours. After that he did some TV performances on German television joining Laura Pausini and Elton John on stage. The overwhelming feedback of the crowd and hanging out with celebreties became something magical to him. The only thing missing was performing as himself with a band with their own material.

After playing in several rockbands as a drummer, Bertil found himself limited to only playing beats and wanted to explore his skills in the more challenging aspect of making music: writing songs. So the journey began. Bertil wrote many songs over the years that were melodic and catchy. In 2014 he decided to record his own cd and asked the best musicians he knew to participate on the album. That is how the cooporation between him, Maarten and Otto-Chris started.
Since then, the trio has been inseparable. Bertil is back behind his good old drumkit and together they have brought the progressive album The Edge Of The Sun to life. Currently he is also writing his second book: My Life In Music.
